Communication trainee for innovation community (32 hours)

Are you a proactive second year Communication student, a star in strategy formulation and an ace at writing, populating websites and maintaining social media with valuable and creative content? Are you capable of putting together a jam-packed newsletter or organising an event? Are you looking for a versatile, instructive and interesting internship in the short term? Then we have a great opportunity for you. MindLabs is looking for a collaborative intern.

About MindLabs 
MindLabs is a partnership in which four knowledge institutions (including Fontys), authorities and a growing group of business partners, social institutions and start-ups are participating. Together, all of these partners are strengthening the development of interactive technologies. The partners want to help solve societal challenges using the unique possibilities these technologies present. As MindLabs is currently undergoing a significant growth spurt and at the same time values knowledge transfer and cooperation, we are looking for an intern to join the existing team from September 2021 to December 2021.  

This is what we are looking for 

MindLabs is looking for a second-year Communication student who likes to roll up their sleeves. Because the following tasks, among others, are part of your work package: 

Maintaining MindLabs' social media channels (in cooperation with an external party)  

- You provide texts that suit the medium in question 
- You take care of photos that suit the medium in question 
- You create and maintain a content calendar 
- You keep track of Analytics and report on the results 

Maintaining the Mindlabs website (Typo3) 

- You place texts 
- You select and place photos 
- You add events to the calendar 

(Collaborative) organisation of events 

- You take care of the invitation process (texts, layout, sending, processing, response) 
- You select and take care of the location (hiring props, furnishing, catering) 
- You supervise the audiovisual set-up 
- You accompany speakers 
- You prepare presentations, videos, etc. as necessary 

Managing/photography and maintaining the photo archive 

- You instruct the photographer or take pictures yourself 
- You maintain the photo archive (including quit claims) 

Helping to provide text articles 

- You take care of texts and photography for presentation materials 
- You take care of texts and photography for newsletters 

Taking care of newsletters and promotional material 

- You take care of the layout of newsletters in Mailchimp 
- You instruct a DTP person where necessary 
- You send out newsletters 
- You keep the mailing list up to date 
- You keep track of the response and Analytics 

Contributing to the 2021-2025 Strategic Communication Plan of MindLabs

- You review the strategic and tactical communications of MindLabs 
- You implement improvements 
- You exchange your ideas on the positioning, profiling and 'marketing' of MindLabs to the various target groups.  

Performing administrative work 

You are not averse to hard work, not afraid to speak your mind and you are very capable of backing up your opinions with information you've gained in college.
