ROC Tilburg's interactive technology head group starts in MindLabs building

15 September 2020

ROC Tilburg is going to give shape to the activities of the leading group in a tutorate. For a number of years now, it has been possible to appoint a practor, someone who looks at research from a practical point of view and who looks at how the results can be applied in education.

ROC Tilburg has selected eight teachers who see technologies such as VR, AR, serious gaming, robotics and avatars as important tools for the education of the future. They are all innovators who want to be at the forefront. Together they form a center of expertise that will help other teachers and instructors in the future to take their students further in their education and development with the use of new technologies in an effective, motivating and above all fun way.

The eight teachers have been released from the teaching process on Tuesdays this school year. They may use those days to become experts in applying new technologies in education. New forms of work are developed, tested and experimented with.

Facilities are needed for this. And these will be provided at the MindLabs location in the Spoorzone in Tilburg. ROC Tilburg is making serious investments in this area. This is how the Teaching & Technology Lab013 came into being. Together with the MindLabs partners, the intention is to expand this into a place where practice-oriented research takes place, educational products are developed, and teachers experiment with new forms of working.  The ROC Tilburg practicum focuses on the use of interactive technologies in education, combined with other, more traditional forms of working, such as classroom lessons, practicals and assignments. And 'as we speak' we are talking to a candidate for this role of practitioner. As soon as that position is filled, we will post about it.
