The Game Lab at MindLabs provides a space equipped with the necessary tools to study the interaction between people and games using data science methods. All kinds of games can be researched here, including video, board and physical games.
Located on the ground floor, the Game Lab was set up with a grant from the municipality of Tilburg. It is managed by Tilburg University's Department of Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence
Research conducted here focuses on understanding when and why people enjoy games, and how games can be made more effective. This could involve creating intelligent game characters or elements, adjusting the difficulty of games for each individual player, or generating game spaces in real time.
