The Virtual & Mixed Reality Lab, located in the MindLabs building, enables the study of learning, behaviour, performance, movement and physiological responses in interaction with virtual, augmented or mixed reality. The lab facilitates research into immersive (XR) technologies.

Located on the ground floor, the lab was set up with a grant from the municipality of Tilburg. It is managed by Tilburg University's Department of Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence.
The types of experiments that can be conducted in the lab include:

  • User studies observing behaviour and performance in XR scenarios
  • Movement, affective and physiological monitoring during XR interactions
  • Studies on learning, perception, and behaviour, using XR as a simulation tool to control the study environment.
