From healthcare to journalism: virtual humans are making their entrance. Virtual humans, digital characters that look, sound and behave like humans, are rapidly making the transition from science fiction to serious applications. In healthcare, education, journalism and entertainment, we are seeing how this technology is enabling new forms of interaction.

In our 2025 Virtual Humans Special, you can read about the increasing realism of avatars, the social opportunities and risks this entails, and the role of knowledge institutions in Brabant in research and development.
