Gen-T talent speaks: Tim Ravasz (van Geloven)

07 May 2026

“It’s wonderful to see how open everyone is.”

Within the Gen-T programme, young professionals work on their personal development, leadership skills and the future of their organisation. In this series, we let the talented individuals themselves share their experiences, insights and ambitions.

My name is Tim, I’m 27 years old and I live in Goirle. I’m originally from Tilburg and I live with my girlfriend. In my spare time, I enjoy exercising, going on holiday and playing football once a week in a team of friends. I work at Van Geloven as a supply chain planner. Together with a colleague, I ensure that everything arrives on time to enable production, such as packaging and raw materials. I receive a production schedule and ensure that all the necessary materials are delivered on time. This involves a lot of contact with suppliers, and I deal with contracts and any issues that arise. I also take on other tasks, such as planning external production. Essentially, I ensure that everything needed for production is available on time.

It’s nice to focus more on yourself, to take a step back and ask: which direction do I want to go in? The first few weeks are mainly about getting to know the programme and finding out where you stand and where things are heading. I haven’t quite worked out yet where I want to be once the programme is finished. At the moment, I’m mainly focused on developing myself and discovering which direction suits me best. It’s nice to step back from day-to-day operations for a moment and consciously reflect on that.In the longer term, I do want to progress. I’m currently working as a planner, but eventually I’d like to move up a level, perhaps towards a more overarching or managerial role.

It’s been a unique experience so far. I went into it with an open mind, but it’s remarkable to see how open everyone is. People share a lot with one another, which makes it feel safe to tell your story. You feel heard, and it’s a lovely group. My experience has therefore been very positive. I didn’t have many expectations beforehand, but it’s lovely to see how open everyone is and how quickly you feel at ease. One moment that stands out is the session where we talked about everyone’s roots: where people come from and their perspectives on things. That gave us a different perspective on one another and meant we got to know each other better than we would have during a standard introduction.

I would definitely recommend taking part. It’s always a good idea, especially at the start of your career, as it helps you get to know yourself better and discover what you do and don’t enjoy. It’s important to keep developing yourself. It’s also good for your network and gives you the chance to bounce ideas off others who are at a similar stage. It’s valuable to step outside your own environment for a while and engage in conversation with others.
