After the arrival of the LocHal and the start of construction of Plan-T, the arrival of MindLabs will be the next milestone in the Spoorzone. A new phase in the area development, with the aim of open collaboration and learning and innovation. In the long term, MindLabs must become 'the signboard for economic development' of the city and the region. Alderman Berend de Vries: "With the establishment of the final design, we are one step closer to the realization of an important innovative hotspot in the Spoorzone area. It is good to see that our partners and tenants are also enthusiastic."

PARTNERS AND TENANTS
De Persgroep, Tilburg University and Onderwijsgroep Tilburg signed the first rental agreements with the municipality and partner of MindLabs Fontys Hogescholen on September 13. Publisher Zwijsen will sign soon and even plans to take more square meters than originally planned. With this mix of education, entrepreneurship, research and innovation, MindLabs should develop into a center for education, research and entrepreneurship around journalism, interactive technologies and human behavior. Collaboration in an open landscape, including innovation, are central to this. It also offers space for startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

FINAL DESIGN AND PLANNING
On October 9, the environmental committee approved the final design by Ector Hoogstad Architecten. They have received the design positively, but the committee does ask for attention for the north facade. The architect is working on this. MindLabs is scheduled for completion in late 2021, opening in early 2022. The photo accompanying this post shows the front facade.
