What is Gen-T?
Gen-T is a regional talent programme for young professionals at SMEs in the Tilburg region. Over the course of a year and a half, participants develop both personally and professionally through training, coaching, inspirational sessions, peer review and practical assignments.
They work on themes such as personal leadership, collaboration, innovation and social impact. In doing so, they learn from experts and trainers in the field, as well as from one another. They apply the knowledge and skills they acquire directly within their own organisations.
Gen-T brings together young professionals from different organisations. In this way, they expand their networks, whilst their employers also forge stronger links with other businesses and initiatives in the region. In doing so, Gen-T helps to retain young talent in Tilburg and the surrounding area. This is sorely needed, as many organisations are seeking well-educated, motivated employees who value personal growth.
Target group & approach
Gen-T focuses on local SMEs that wish to invest in the development and retention of young talent. The programme is designed for new entrants to the workforce and young professionals with 0 to 2 years’ work experience.
Participants work on their personal development, learn to collaborate across organisational boundaries and apply new insights directly in practice. This is achieved through coaching, peer review, co-creation and assignments centred on current issues facing organisations and the region.
T-time: for inspiration and networking
To provide inspiration and opportunities to meet others, Gen-T regularly organises T-time: a regular gathering for young professionals centred on topical themes. T-time is not a traditional networking event, but an interactive gathering focused on meeting others, finding inspiration and gaining new perspectives. Each session has its own theme. In this way, T-time strengthens the network of young professionals whilst encouraging the exchange of knowledge and new collaborations between organisations.
